Today was pretty much flat and fast. Before lunch, we were on the same open roads we’ve been on for days with a big paceline clicking off miles. After lunch we transitioned to the Root River Trail, a wonderful bike path which meandered for 40 miles. It was a wonderful trail and a much needed change of pace. We had one quite nasty climb with about 10 miles to go, but then we crossed the Mississippi River into Wisconsin, our eighth state! Fancy hotel tonight – the Charmont in La Crosse, WI.
