Day 16: Columbus, MT to Lovell, WY

A bit chilly this morning, so we put off the start until 8 am. Perfect day for a long ride – reasonable temps, mostly favorable winds, and sunny blue skies. It was a relatively flat day, and what little climbing there was came early, which lead to a flat and fast afternoon. Dave Norton happened to be near Joliet when we stopped for aid #1 today, so he came to say hello, which was greatly appreciated. (Dave and Melissa drove to Columbus yesterday and we had dinner together which was even more appreciated. I’m very lucky to have such good friends from so long ago.)

We also crossed into Wyoming around mile 70 today – our fifth state!

We are all thankful for a fairly easy day today, given we have a very hard day tomorrow.
